Minutes September 6, 2001

The meeting commenced at 6:35 p.m.
Minutes of August 12, 2001 & Special Minutes of August 22, 2001 Anthony motioned to approve, Gemmer seconded. The motion carried.

Treasurer's Report Accepted.

Membership Sales & Notations Fell motioned to approve prospective members Williams & Mary Ann Gonser and Jerome & Robert Sullivan. Koch seconded, the motion carried. The Board took note of one reduction in the selling price of a membership and one Notice to Sell. These will be effective for sale on September 7, 2001.

Committees

Green: Discussion on comments from Club members on the condition of the golf course The committee is recommending that members put their concerns in writing and or attend a Green Committee meeting for discussion. The committee also discussed the Tree Program and contracting with Arbor Care and the long range plan for the irrigation system.

House: The committee is looking for artwork to place in the Ballroom and main lounge. A bulletin board has been selected for the Terrace entry, outside the golf pro shop.

Tennis: The Tennis Committee, in agreement with the Membership Committee submitted a proposal for a tennis class of membership to the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee reviewed the information and presented to the Board a list of issues that need clarification. Varady will take the Finance report to the Tennis Committee to resolve the issues of concern. He will review the concerns and resolutions with the Membership Committee before submitting the report back to the Board. Membership: The committee submitted a motion from May 2000 on the transfer of a membership to a son or daughter as "information only." Kingsbury thought the transfer fee in the motion would require legal opinion and by-laws change. The Board asked Koch to write a proposal for a motion on the transfer fee that would not require a by-law change.

Pool: Discussion on building an overhang for shade somewhere near the eating area and play ground.

Golf Guest Fees The Board would like management to review the guest fees of other clubs and make a recommendation for an increase at GVCC.

2001 Donations Management will report to the October Board the number of Club donations given in 2001.

Motions & Correspondence

Faux Turf: A member recommended that the Board give serious consideration to faux turf on #13. The Board forwarded this recommendation to the Green Committee.

WSGriffin: A member requested to present a 401k plan for Club employees. The request was tabled.

Real Estate: A member requested to purchase a small portion of Club property adjacent to his home. The Board declined the request as they have no plans to sell at this time.

Replacement of Golf Clubs: A member requested to be reimbursed for golf clubs that were lost or stolen at the Club. The Board declined the request.

Bosom Buddies of Solano County: A member requested a foursome including carts to be used as a prize for their fundraiser on September 28, 2001. Varady motioned to approve, Gemmer seconded. The motion carried.
